Absinthe Myxologist Jared Williams has created a truly unique cocktail flavor combination that is refreshing and delicious. Inspired by the Thai dish, Nur Ta Kai it combines the flavors of Basil and licorice.

Jared uses Le Tourment Vert Absinthe for this but you can experiment with other brands to get more licorice flavor in the mix.

Thai Absinthe Cocktail
1 Handful of Thai basil (or Italian basil)
1 Shot Le Tourment Vert absinthe
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon of sugar (or half an ounce of bar syrup)
Club soda
7UP

Build this cocktail in the shaker tin.
Begin with basil
Shot of absinthe
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
1 Teaspoon of sugar (or half an ounce of bar syrup)
Shake vigorously

Strain over ice.
Pour some of the basil out of the shaker tin into the glass.
Top up with equal parts of club soda and 7UP

Note: This is great for hot summer nights out doors, at festivals, and in open air café style salons. Next time you are in the mood for a mojito give this a try and see what you think.
